Sandy Shorelines

Monitoring Network System

The main objective of the Sandy Shorelines Project is to improve the resilience of coastal communities to climate change and sea-level rise through the establishment of a regional erosion monitoring network, beach rehabilitation and best practices. Thus, the 9 participating countries will be required to establish several coastal monitoring sites that are vulnerable and have high levels of coastal deterioration with significant socio-economic impacts. The establishment of this VMS will be used as a tool to for understanding the causes of erosion and to be able to track shoreline erosion
